Alliance Medical Ministry (AMM) is seeking a full-time or part-time physician who will provide direct patient care and be a part of a strong leadership team making a difference for a diverse and underserved patient population.
Alliance Medical Ministry is a non-profit based in Raleigh, North Carolina that provides access to comprehensive medical care to working, uninsured Wake County residents. Uninsured individuals are less likely to receive preventive care, more likely to develop chronic illnesses and more likely to be hospitalized for conditions that could have been prevented. AMM provides a primary care medical home to nearly 2,200 low-income adults. Patient demographics are: 69% of patients are women, 79% have one or more chronic illnesses, 53% are Spanish-speaking and 89% are non-Caucasian. Comprehensive medical care provided at AMM includes acute and chronic medical care, lab and pharmacy services, health education and wellness programs, disease management, counseling, an on-site community garden and a comprehensive wellness program. Physician duties: serve as primary care provider for a panel of patients; function effectively in care team with medical assistant to provide compassionate continuity of care for patients; obtain health history and perform physical exams; arrange for standard of care preventive measures, including cancer screenings and immunizations as needed; diagnose and develop treatment plans with the patients; and prescribe medications as allowed by federal, state and professional guidelines utilizing low-cost programs.
Qualifications: maintain current and unrestricted North Carolina medical license; board certification in internal medicine or family medicine; skill in management of complex patients and preventive health; skill in collaboration with medical staff and team members; proficiency in EPIC; and Spanish language fluency a plus. Compensation and benefits summary: $150,000 to $160,000 per year full-time or pro-rata for part-time; work- life balance; telephonic call every fifth week; medical, dental, vision plans for full-time; retirement benefits with generous employer match; generous PTO; and CME stipend.
