The Good Samaritan Hospital was started more than 50 years ago by missionaries to Guatemala that saw a need for quality health care for the people of Chichicastengo, El Quiche, in the mountains of Guatemala.
Today the hospital is staffed by Guatemala Nationals on a 24 hour basis with and emergency room. The hospital is well equipped by Guatemala standards, with an ultra-sound machine, CR x-ray machine, a well equipped laboratory, pharmacy, new OR tables and digital lights as well as a whole-hospital back-up generator. It has enjoyed the support of Samaritan’s Purse and Rotary International.
We have enjoyed the work of a US trained surgeon for the past 15 years. He is retiring. We seek a passionate, Christian general surgeon to continue his practice.
