We are seeking two optometrists, a staff optometrist and a supervisory optometrist, to staff our state-of-the-art facility and provide comprehensive eye care for our community. Whiteriver Indian Hospital is part of the US Indian Health Service and provides health care for the approximately 18,000 White Mountain Apache Tribal members living on the 1.6 million acre WMAT Reservation in the mountains of eastern Arizona.

We are seeking two optometrists, a staff optometrist and a supervisory optometrist, to staff our state-of-the-art facility and provide comprehensive eye care for our community. There is an onsite ophthalmologist twice monthly. The community is rural, approximately 3-4 hours from Phoenix, Flagstaff, and Albuquerque. The reservation experiences four seasons and has one of the two ski resorts in Arizona. There is a nearby vibrant resort/vacation community which is popular for fishing, hiking, and camping with Arizonians. The successful applicant will join a medical staff of ~ 70 highly committed providers who enjoy a supportive community life together.
This is a Federal employment position and includes the following benefits: loan repayment, recruitment bonus, health insurance (with vision and dental), disability insurance, annual leave (up to 26 days depending on years of experience), sick leave (13 days), federal holidays off (10), moving expenses, a defined benefit pension as well as a 401k matching pension. The salary for the staff optometrist is $97,876-$151,584 and for the supervisory optometrist is $136,965-$178,051, depending upon experience.
