A Prayer for Future Healthcare Professionals

By: Bill Melone

September 12, 2019

A student? Receive this prayer. Not a student? Join pastors, partners in ministry, friends, family and current healthcare professionals in praying for future healthcare professionals you are connected with and/or are studying at a school in your area.

Lord,

Grant your strength and grace to these students as they prepare to treat and serve people in the medical field. Help them to find reserves of energy and intellectual capacity in their studies. As they move toward their specialties, give them discernment and peace. And as they get closer to their practice, keep them alert to care well for the person in front of them, seeing them with your eyes as a person of value and dignity.

Amen.

Editor’s note: At Penn State Hershey College of Medicine, second year students have their next exam on Friday, September 13, and first year students have their first exam on Friday, September 21. After Monday night’s Bible study, I engaged in an extended and lively conversation regarding exams with a small group of remaining students. The mix of hard questions, study tips and laughter over trials brought refreshment during a very stressful time. Praise God! In addition to weekly dinner / Bible study (Monday) and prayer (Thursday noon), CMDA will once again provide dinner for first years on the night before their first exam. If you desire to assist with the dinner in some manner, please use the contact form on the CMDA South Central Pennsylvania homepage. Thank you.
