Meet Our Guests
John West, PhD
John West, PhD, is a Vice President and Senior Fellow at the Seattle-based Discovery Institute, where he also serves as Associate Director of the Institute’s Center for Science & Culture. His current research examines the impact of science and “scientism” on public policy and culture. His other areas of expertise include constitutional law, American government and institutions, and religion and politics. Dr. West was previously an Associate Professor of Political Science at Seattle Pacific University where he chaired the Department of Political Science and Geography, and he has taught political science and history courses at California State University, San Bernardino and Azusa Pacific University. He has written or edited 12 books, most recently The Magician’s Twin: C.S. Lewis on Science, Scientism, and Society. Additionally, Dr. West has directed and written several documentaries. Listed in Who’s Who in America, he has been interviewed by Time, Newsweek, USA Today, The Washington Post and The New York Times, and he has appeared on CNN, FoxNews and C-SPAN. Dr. West holds a PhD in government from Claremont Graduate University and a BA in communications from the University of Washington.
David Player, MD
David Player, MD, is the founder, chairman and principal of Health By Design. A San Antonio nephrologist, Dr. Player’s vision was to teach patients a lifestyle of wellness and provide an opportunity to obtain preventive care through trusted physician/patient relationships. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and is board certified in internal medicine with a sub-specialty in nephrology. He received his specialty training at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas. During his career as a nephrologist, he cared for thousands of patients with diabetes and kidney disease and was involved in the care of nearly 2,000 patients with kidney and heart transplants. Dr. Player serves as a medical advisor and personal physician to many high-level corporate executives throughout Texas. He also provides medical consultative services to leading regional and national health insurance companies.
Ronlad W. Blue
Ronald W. Blue is the founder of Kingdom Advisors, a ministry that empowers Christian financial advisors who seek to integrate a biblical worldview into their advice and counsel. In 1979, he founded Ronald Blue & Company, the largest Christian financial planning firm in the country. He has authored 18 books, including Master Your Money, The Complete Guide to Faith Based Family Finances and Surviving Financial Meltdown. Ron holds a BS and an MBA from Indiana University. Ron is married to Judy, and they have five grown children and 13 grandchildren. They reside in Atlanta, Georgia.
