On Oct. 30, 1990, The Doctor's Day Resolution became public law #473. A joint Resolution of the 101 Congress designated March 30 as National Doctor's Day.
March 30 is an opportunity to recognize physicians and dentists. As Christians in medicine and dentistry, theirs is a delightful privilege to serve patients. Many times, a crisis brings them into the doctor’s office. In such a moment, many doctors offer far more than medical advice as each person is an eternal being in need of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health.
Christian Medical & Dental Associations is convinced that the doctor’s office is the most opportune place for one to share their faith, doctor to patient. As great a privilege as this is, many feel the weight of this responsibility in the midst of innumerable demands on their time.
We encourage you to recognize both dentists and physicians on March 30. Theirs is a great privilege, but also a huge responsibility and the weight is borne by the doctor and every one of his or her family members.
Pray with and for each one individually. Pray that God would give them physical strength, discernment, humility, great skill, compassion and margin in all areas of their lives.
Finally, thank each one of them personally for their good investment of the trust that God has placed in them.
