Domestic Short Term Mission Scholarship Information

PURPOSE

There is a tremendous need for physicians and dentists to serve among the poor, marginalized, and underserved here in the United States.  Christian clinics serving these communities exist all over the country, but staffing is often a challenge. Students and residents are more likely to serve in these facilities after completing their training if they’ve had exposure to these opportunities during their training.  This scholarship provides funds to assist with travel, housing, and rotation fees for students, trainees, and residents engaging in a domestic mission rotation/ clerkship/ preceptorship of at least 4 weeks duration.

ELIGIBILITY

You must be:

  1. A CMDA member
  2. Medical and dental students, residents, and fellows.
  3. Pre-med or pre-dental juniors or seniors are also eligible (undergraduate students are not required to be CMDA members)
  4. Rotation length of at least 4 full work weeks in a Christian clinic or facility in the United States
  5. Demonstrate financial need to enable project participation.
  6. Priority is given to applicants who will be working in CCHF facilities during their rotation
  7. Priority is also given to those who are open to/ interested in longer term domestic mission service in the future
