Her Greatest Blessing
When Renee* discovered she was pregnant during nursing school, she felt trapped.
With eight months left before graduation, no reliable transportation, limited income and pressure from those around her, she couldn't see a way forward. Abortion seemed like the only option.
So, she took the first abortion pill.
But almost immediately, doubt set in.
“I began to think about how this world is only for a short while, but my choice to abort this baby would be eternal,” Renee shared.
Desperate for another option, she searched online and found the Abortion Pill Reversal hotline. There, a nurse listened to her concerns and explained it might not be too late.
Renee was quickly connected with a compassionate healthcare professional who answered her questions, cared for her with dignity and began a progesterone protocol designed to help sustain her pregnancy.
Months later, baby Lola* was born healthy and strong, weighing 8 pounds, 1 ounce.
Today, Renee has completed nursing school and describes Lola as her “greatest blessing.”
Saving little Lola required care for her pregnant mom through a pro-life healthcare professional and the nationwide legality of the abortion pill reversal procedure. Thanks to friends like you, our CMDA Advocacy teams at both the federal and state levels fought for them and won.
Behind one family’s story is a much larger story of compassionate healthcare professionals, advocates and faithful ministry partners working together to protect life and ensure women facing difficult circumstances have access to life-affirming care.
More Than One Life Changed
Renee’s story is about more than one mother and one baby.
It’s the story of what happens when compassionate healthcare professionals are equipped to serve patients according to their faith and medical convictions. It’s what happens when women facing unexpected pregnancies are offered hope, support and life-affirming care. And it’s what happens when believers are willing to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.
Because of faithful partners like you, CMDA is helping make those moments possible every day.
Through advocacy efforts at both the federal and state levels, CMDA works to protect healthcare professionals’ ability to provide ethical, life-affirming care. We equip physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals to engage critical bioethical issues, educate lawmakers and speak truth in the public square.
When legal and policy challenges threaten vulnerable patients, healthcare conscience freedoms or the sanctity of life, CMDA is there.
Because of that work, mothers like Renee can find the care they need. Babies like Lola can have a chance to live. And healthcare professionals can continue serving with integrity and compassion.
Speaking Up for Those Who Cannot Speak for Themselves
Proverbs 31:8 calls us to, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves...” (NIV). For CMDA, that calling reaches from legislative chambers to examination rooms, from U.S. Supreme Court decisions to individual patient encounters.
The impact may begin with advocacy, but it is ultimately measured in lives changed. Lives like Renee’s. Lives like Lola’s.
Lives touched because faithful friends like you choose to stand with CMDA in protecting and promoting life.
Thank you for helping ensure vulnerable mothers are supported, healthcare professionals are equipped and precious lives are given the opportunity to flourish.
