Freedom Found in Thailand
As night falls over Thailand’s red-light district, neon lights illuminate crowded streets marked by brokenness, searching and spiritual darkness.
Women stand in doorways and along sidewalks, trapped in exploitation. Nearby, men from around the world search for acceptance, fulfillment and meaning in places that can never truly satisfy. Though their circumstances differ, both are bound by deep spiritual need.
Yet, even in places that seem forgotten, God is at work.
When Lori returned from a recent Global Health Outreach (GHO) mission trip to Thailand, she struggled to put into words what she had witnessed.
“God’s presence was there,” she said. “And we had the incredible chance to be His loving heart through a listening ear, a prayer offered in faith and a gentle hand extended in care.”
Because of the faithful support of ministry partners, GHO’s Thailand teams provided medical and dental care to hundreds of patients this year. The impact extended far beyond physical treatment.
The clinic created a safe place where vulnerable individuals could be seen, heard, cared for and introduced to the hope found in Jesus Christ.
One woman returned this year to share her story. During a previous GHO clinic, she had received help for a serious medical need. Through the compassionate care she experienced and the gospel message she heard, she placed her faith in Christ.
Today, she is no longer involved in the sex industry.
Her story was not the only one.
During this year’s outreach, six women asked for help escaping exploitation. Through local ministry partnerships, we connected them with safe housing and gave them an opportunity to begin again. Today, each of these women knows Jesus as Savior.
What began with compassionate healthcare became a pathway to freedom, restoration and new life.

“We were not bringing God to a place where He is absent. We were joining Him in what He is already doing, sharing love, offering mercy and calling the lost toward freedom.”
