As a provider accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), CMEsolutions must ensure balance, independence, objectivity, and scientific rigor in all individually provided or jointly provided educational activities. All faculty, planners and directors involved in an accredited activity are expected to disclose all financial relationships with any ineligible company in any amount occurring within the prior 24 months. ACCME defines ineligible companies as those whose primary business is producing, marketing, selling, re-selling, or distributing healthcare products used by or on patients. Owners are defined as individuals who have an ownership interest (stock) except for stockholders of publicly traded companies, or holders of shares through a pension or mutual fund. There is no minimum financial threshold; you must disclose all financial relationships, regardless of the amount, with ineligible companies.

As a proposed planner or faculty member, we ask your help in protecting our learning environment from industry influence. Please complete the following:

EMPLOYEES or OWNERS OF ACCME-DEFINED COMMERCIAL INTEREST

CMEsolutions does not allow the use of employees or owners of ACCME-defined ineligible companies (ineligible companies are those whose primary business is producing, marketing, selling, re-selling, or distributing healthcare products used by or on patients) as faculty or planners or in other roles where they are in a position to control the content of accredited CME. Owners are defined as individuals who have an ownership interest (stock) except for stockholders of publicly traded companies, or holders of shares through a pension or mutual fund.

DISCLOSURE (*)

Circumstances create a conflict of interest when an individual has an opportunity to affect CME content about products or services of an ineligible company with which he/she has any financial relationship.

All activity planners, faculty, and others in control of the educational content must disclose all financial relationships with ineligible companies (ineligible companies are those whose primary business is producing, marketing, selling, re-selling, or distributing healthcare products used by or on patients) within the prior 24 months. There is no minimum financial threshold regardless of the faculty’s view of the relevance of the financial relationship to the education and regardless of the amount of the relationship.

Employees or owners of an ACCME-defined ineligible company are not permitted to participate. Owners are defined as individuals who have an ownership interest (stock) except for stockholders of publicly traded companies, or holders of shares through a pension or mutual fund.
