The Mission of the Neurology Section is to raise awareness among neurologists, neurology health professionals, neurology residents, fellows and medical students of the great need for neurological care—domestically and globally—and through their response to those needs, to share the gospel. The Neurology Section also promotes the mission of the Christian Medical & Dental Associations, which is:

To motivate, educate and equip Christian healthcare professionals to glorify God by:

  • serving with professional excellence as witnesses of Christ’s love and compassion to all peoples, and;
  • advancing Biblical principles of healthcare within the Church and to our culture.

Purpose

This section exists to:

  1. Bring awareness of the global need for neurological care.
  2. Provide opportunities for support and participation in neurological/medical missions, both domestically and around the world.
  3. Come together as a community to learn how to use neurology as a platform to share the gospel, and to help those in great need in the world.
  4. Seek creative ways to improve neurological care across the globe.
  5. Build local capacity to diagnose, prevent, treat and refer neurological disease.
  6. Facilitate neurological education across the globe.

Statement of Faith

  1. We believe the Bible to be the authoritative Word of God.
  2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  3. We believe in the deity and humanity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His present rule as Head of the Church and in His personal return in power and glory.
  4. We believe that salvation is based on the sacrifice of Christ and regeneration by the Holy Spirit.
  5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
  6. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting punishment of the lost.
  7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, with equality across racial, gender, and class differences.

History and Current Activities

Until now, there have been a few neurologists who have been doing neurological missions across the globe, but no centralized place to discuss these activities with other neurologists, nor a clear means to make available opportunities for other neurologists to join in the work.  This section aims to make this platform available and effective.
