Cajun Campus Advisor
Rather than jumping into retirement, Dr. John Ward chose to follow his private practice days with a faculty position in Cajun country at LSU School of Dentistry. Dr. Ward also serves as Campus Advisor for CMDA’s student group at LSU. His vast clinical experience over the years is now contributing to the development of the next generation of dentists and he’s having a blast in the process.

Dr. John Ward, an experienced general dentist with a passion for comprehensive restorative care, retired from general dentistry practice June 30, 2022. He practiced for thirty-eight years in Ruston, LA bringing business acumen and experience navigating through advancements in dental technology throughout his career. Dr. Ward’s focus on the person connected to the problem brings an adaptable approach to each person and their journey through life. Since July 1, 2022, he has enjoyed a full-time faculty appointment at LSU School of Dentistry as an Assistant Clinical Professor. He mentors fourth-year dental students in all phases of comprehensive general dentistry. Dr. Ward’s passion for dental missions has taken him all over the world since 1983. He and his wife Kimberly reside in New Orleans, LA.
