Meet Our Guest
Dennis Sullivan, MD, MA (Ethics), a 1978 Graduate of Case Western Reserve School of Medicine, trained as a general surgeon. He and his family worked for 12 years as medical missionaries with Baptist Mid-Missions in Haiti, West Indies and the Central African Republic. After civil unrest forced a return to the U.S., he joined the faculty at Cedarville University. Dr. Sullivan developed the Center for Bioethics at Cedarville in 2006, which he directed until his retirement in 2019. Dr. Sullivan has authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, especially on human personhood and clinical ethics. He is the lead author of Ethics in Pharmacy Practice: A Practical Guide (2021, Springer Academic Publishers). Dr. Sullivan enjoys biking, woodworking and square dancing. He and his wife Barbara live in Beavercreek, Ohio. They have three daughters and four grandchildren.
