COVID-19 in NYC
Don’t miss a single podcast of CMDA Matters. You can subscribe through iTunes or GooglePlay, download our free CMDA app and or listen on our website at www.cmda.org/cmdamatters. This weekly podcast hosted by Dr. Mike Chupp features one interview with brief news and announcements that matter to you.
On the podcast today, Dr. Mike Chupp is joined by Drs. David and Janet Kim, who are working to fight COVID-19 at ground zero in New York City. Their ongoing prayer and hope is that their story shows they are still trusting in a God who is a perfect Shepherd, even as they walk obediently through the valley of the shadow of death.
In addition, we have included in this week’s podcast a “Quiet Moment” with Ken Jones from CMDA’s Center for Well-being. Ken asks the question, “What are you doing?” He encourages that a time of reflection is needed in order to answer that question and three additional questions he asks in this “Quiet Moment.”
Meet Our Guest
Drs. David and Janet Kim run Beacon Christian Community Health Center in Staten Island, New York City. This Christ-centered community health center is federally and state-supported and has served a target population of 30,000 in one of the most medically underserved parts of Staten Island since 2006. David and Janet, with their team, led the Island’s medical response to such crises as H1N1 and Superstorm Sandy. They and their staff have kept Beacon open during this current coronavirus crisis when so many other practices have shut their doors.
Beacon’s Mission is, “To honor God by caring for the physical, mental and spiritual health of our community.” And Beacon’s vision is, “We believe that whole-person, relationship-based health care has the power to heal people, transform communities, and ultimately change the spirit of America.” For more information and to give to Beacon, visit www.beaconcchc.com/giving.
