Dr. Daisey Dowell, a primary care physician from Lawndale Christian Health Center in Chicago, joins Dr. Mike Chupp on this week’s CMDA Matters podcast. Dr. Dowell will also be a plenary speaker at the 2022 CMDA National Convention.

Daisey Dowell, MD received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Loyola University and then her medical degree from the University of Illinois in 2003. She then completed her pediatric residency at the University of Chicago’s Comer Children’s Hospital in 2006. Dr. Dowell currently serves as a primary care physician and Site Clinical Director the Homan Square site for Lawndale Christian Health Center. Since 2013, Dr. Dowell has been a member of the Christian Community Health Fellowship, a national organization that encourages, engages and equips Christians/Christian health centers throughout the country as they endeavor to show God’s love through living and providing health care among the poor and marginalized. She has served as a member on the CCHF board for five years where she has served on CCHF’s Diversity Committee and served as CCHF board chair (2020 to 2021). Globally, Dr. Dowell serves as a medical missionary to Haiti as part of El Shaddai Ministry’s, “Haiti Orphan Project.” Dr. Dowell has served children and their families nearly all of her life and believes strongly in education. Prior to attending medical school, she served as a high school science teacher for Chicago Public Schools for eight years. She is also is fluent in sign language and has a love for the deaf community. She is the adoring wife of Jasper, and they have two adult children.
