Meet Our Guest
Dr. Darrell L. Bock is the executive director of Cultural Engagement and senior research professor of New Testament Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary. He received his PhD from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. Dr. Bock has earned recognition as a Humboldt Scholar (Tübingen University in Germany), is the author of more than 40 books, including well-regarded commentaries on Luke and Acts and studies of the historical Jesus, and works in cultural engagement as host of the seminary’s Table Podcasts.
Mike Chupp, MD, is a board certified general surgeon who completed his pre-med chemistry degree at Taylor University in 1984, earned his medical degree at Indiana University in 1988 and then completed a five-year surgery residency at Methodist Hospital of Indiana in 1993. He then joined Southwestern Medical Clinic in Berrien County, Michigan where he practiced for three years as a general surgeon and remained a partner in the practice through 2016. In 1996, Mike and his wife Pam began a 20-year career as medical missionaries with World Gospel Mission at Tenwek Hospital in Southwest Kenya. There he practiced general and orthopedic surgery and served as the Medical Superintendent for many years. In 2016, Mike accepted the invitation of Dr. David Stevens of CMDA to become the Executive Vice President of Christian Medical & Dental Associations (CMDA), and in September 2019 became CMDA’s Chief Executive Officer.
