CMDA’s Dental Ministries (aka. Christian Dental Association (CDA) is a ministry dedicated to encouraging, equipping, and educating dental professionals and
students with a heart to integrate their Christian faith into all aspects of their lives.
Committed leaders in dentistry from across the country have played an integral role in the support and growth of this ministry.
CMDA expanded its Dental Ministries in [year] with the late Dr. Pete Dawson, and the chair position was renamed in his honor. Dr. Dawson, an immensely popular dentist and lecturer, founded The Dawson Academy, a renowned training center that has provided continuing dental education for more than 30 years.
With the support and insight of the CDA Dental Advisory Council and with three representing dentists on the Board of Trustees, this ministry is thriving and God’s glory is being proclaimed through the vocation of dentistry around the globe!

OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM
Dr. William Griffin serves as the Vice President for Dental Ministries with CMDA. A member of CMDA since dental school, he has been a part of CMDA’s senior leadership team since 2019. He averages about four dental mission trips each year, and he also serves as the Director of CMDA’s Faith Prescriptions Resource, designed to help Christian healthcare professionals address the spiritual needs of their patients. Dr. Griffin enjoys opportunities to communicate the love of Christ, domestically and internationally, through healthcare.
Dr. Katie Musser serves as CMDA’s Residency (+) Liaison. She is a general dentist in Memphis, TN and has worked at a distinctly Christian Federally Qualified Health Center. Dr. Musser is a graduate of CMDA’s Dental Residency (+) program and has also served on the program’s faculty. She and her family live an intentionally missional lifestyle alongside other like-minded individuals.

Through our local ministry groups, we bring the healthcare community of Christ followers together to connect for discipleship outreach through local and international ministries and personal accountability. CMDA Dental Residency [+] is preparing a generation of dental disciples to go throughout the United States and the World providing excellent quality dental care to the poor in the name of Jesus.
The dental providers and staff at the CMDA Dental Residency [+] believe we are commissioned by Christ to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up. (Eph. 4:11-13) Our work is to prepare dentists to serve the dental needs of the poor in urban centers of the United States and the far reaches of the globe. We equip dentists not with gear, but skills, character and community that will last much longer.
