He’s also an internationally-awarded educator; in fact, he’s been named Educator of the Year by CMDA and the American Academy of Family Physicians. In his spare time, Walt has become a best-selling author of more than 40 books while authoring over 35 medical text book chapters and over 1,000 articles in dozens of professional journals and lay magazines. Walt’s latest book is the multi-award-winning, At First Light: A True World War II Story of a Hero, His Bravery, and an Amazing Horse, a book a forgotten hero who was one of the youngest and most highly decorated frontline soldiers. He and Barb have been married nearly 50 years, and they have two adult children and two beautiful granddaughters.
