Seasoning Science with Ethics with Dr. David Prentice
In this episode of the Voice of Advocacy podcast, host Dr. Brick Lantz and co-host Nicole Hayes sit down with scientist Dr. David Prentice to discuss SALT (Science Alliance for Life and Technology) an organization dedicated to bringing sound ethics, Christian faith, and science together. Dr. Prentice explains how his group works to protect human dignity at the earliest stages of nascent human life.
The conversation breaks down complex issues surrounding assisted reproduction, IVF, embryonic stem cells, cloning, gene editing, and synthetic embryo models, warning against treating human embryos as disposable products. Instead, Dr. Prentice advocates for ethical research like adult stem cells and restorative medicine that respect the Imago Dei—the idea that every human life has inherent worth. Finally, the episode touches on artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare, reminding listeners that technology should always serve human judgment rather than replace it.
