They also share how mentoring relationships with practicing and retired professionals are shaping the next generation to serve Christ wherever medicine takes them.

John Bayon has ministered to Detroit’s healthcare students and practitioners for 26 years and also worked in undergrad ministry in the 1990s. He’s the father of 7 (plus 2 step sons), the husband of the amazing Tina (so say we all), a victim of the mercy of Christ since he was 19, a U Michigan grad and fan, avid reader, and lover of classic jazz at day’s end.
Mitzi Roberts is a CMDA Area Director in San Antonio, Texas. She received her BS from Kansas State University, and her Master of Arts in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary. Her Doctoral work is in Women, Theology and Leadership.
Corey Whittaker has served in ministry his entire career starting in youth ministry in 1995. He has served TCMDA since 2018 providing leadership, support, pastoral care and pizza for all of our ministries. Corey is married and has 2 adult children who are both married. His daughter is an OR nurse in Charlotte. His son is a software developer in Denver. Corey has an MA in Missions and Evangelism and one in Professional Counseling.
