Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI)
Authored by Christina Maslach and Susan E. Jackson, this extensively validated instrument for assessing burnout is considered the “gold standard.” You can access a specialized form of this inventory designed for medical personnel [MBI-HSS (MP)] for a fee. If you are an AAFP Member, you may take the inventory for free Here.
The ProQOL
The ProQOL is the most commonly used measure of the negative and positive affects of helping others who experience suffering and trauma. The ProQOL has sub-scales for compassion satisfaction, burnout and compassion fatigue.” It is available free of charge.
Develop a Personal Wellness Plan
A wellness plan is geared toward achieving overall health in all facets of your life. It’s a multi-dimensional look at your well-being. The plan takes into consideration your mental, physical, spiritual, financial, professional, intellectual and environmental health.
