Meet Our Guest
For more than 30 years, Dr. Amy Starr has worked in Tyler, Texas with her pediatric partners in both clinic and hospital setting. Grateful for partners who supported her working part-time her entire career, this allowed time at home with husband Kelly, sons Dakota, Tanner and Garrison and daughter Victoria. With the kids graduated from college, the Starrs began considering how to invest their time and gifts in this new season. The jump to retirement looked overwhelming, so Amy enrolled in coaching thru CMDA’s Center for Well-Being. After much pondering over great thought-provoking questions from coach Ken Jones, Amy made the leap into semi-retirement. Still working “some,” she leads a team who launched the new CMDA East Texas graduate chapter and student chapter in the new University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine.
