Dr. Daniel O’Neill joins Dr. Mike Chupp on this week’s CMDA Matters podcast to discuss his new book, All Creation Groans: Toward a Theology of Disease and Global Health.
Meet Our Guest
Daniel O’Neill, MD, MTh, is a physician-theologian, founder and Managing Editor of Christian Journal for Global Health. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He studied tropical medicine and public health in Puerto Rico. He graduated from Hope College and holds a master’s degree in Theological and Biblical Studies summa cum laude from Bethel Seminary of the East with an emphasis on global theology of health. He has served on multiple health and development projects among impoverished or displaced populations including in Central and South America, West Africa, North India, and the Middle East. He is a founding board member of Health for All Nations and a long-time CMDA member. He and his wife, Maria, have three children, and 5 young grandchildren. He is a co-facilitator of the Evidence Working Group of the multi-faith Moral and Spiritual Imperative to End Extreme Poverty convened by the World Bank. He is co-editor of the new multi-author book All Creation Groans: Toward a Theology of Disease and Global Health (Pickwick, 2021).
